About

KLAS is a project of the Max Planck Institutes of Colloids and Interfaces and Molecular Plant Physiology initiated by Polyhedra. It has been made possible thanks to the generous support of the Max Planck Society and the Schering Foundation and it works in partnership with the UNESCO chair in International Relations and Ars Electronica.

KLAS fosters ArtSci exchanges and trans/disciplinary innovation and education whilst also creating a link between Synthetic Biology research groups in leading institutions.

The project endorses ideas and interests of the science to society EU agenda. It aims to increase the awareness of society on hot scientific topics whilst favouring transnational scientific exchanges celebrated yearly via an art & science event.
